What Hepagurd® Granules for Solution is and what it is used for?
Hepagurd® Granules for Solution contains L-Ornithine-L-Aspartate (LOLA) which is a stable salt of two natural nonessential L-amino acids: ornithine and aspartic acid.
In a healthy subject, ammonia produced in the body is excreted by the kidney in the form of urea, the product of the urea cycle, or converted into substances useful for the body.

USES:
Hepagurd® is used for intensive treatment of severe acute and chronic liver diseases as liver cirrhosis, fatty liver, hepatitis with hyperammonaemia. Treatment of associated conditions and sequelae of diseases with impaired hepatic detoxification when there are symptoms and signs of minimal or over hepatic encephalopathy.

What is the Dose?
The content of 1-2 sachets is dissolved in a large amount of fluid (e.g. in a glass of water or juice) and is taken orally 3 times a day during or after meals. The course of treatment is determined individually.

Precautions and Warnings:
Special caution should be taken before administration of Hepagurd® in patients with severe renal insufficiency (a serum creatinine level in excess of 3 mg/100 ml can be regarded as the guide value). It may also causes side effect like nausea, vomiting, stomachache, flatulence and diarrhea. For long term use it may causes harmful to the teeth (caries).
