1. What Formula® E is and what it is used for?
Formula-E (vitamin E) is a crackable tablet with chocolate taste. Each tablet contains vitamin E USP (dl-alpha tocopheryl acetate) 200 mg.

2. Before you take Formula® E
Do not take this medicine and tell your doctor if:

There is no absolute contraindication.
Take special care with Formula E

Check with your doctor before taking this medicine if:
Vitamin E may enhance the anticoagulant activity of anticoagulant drugs.

Taking other medicines
In animal studies very high doses of vitamin E were shown to limit the absorption of vitamins A and K.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Vitamin E may be used in pregnancy in the normally recommended dose, but the safety of high-dose therapy has not been established.
There appears to be no contraindication to breast feeding by mothers taking the normally recommended dose.

3. How to take Formula E
Always use Formula-E exactly as your doctor has told you. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

How much to take
As a supplement or prophylactic use:
Increased requirements: 100-300 mg daily.
Malabsorption syndromes: 100-300 mg daily.
Therapeutic use:
Hemolytic anemia in premature infants: 100-200 mg/kg body weight.
Intermittent claudication: 300-600 mg daily.

If you take more Formula E than you should
If you have too much of this medicine, talk to your doctor straight away.

If you forget to take Formula E
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

If you stop taking Formula E
Do not stop taking this medicine without talking to your doctor. You should not stop taking Formula E just because you feel better. This is because the problem may come back or get worse again.
If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. Possible side effects
Vitamin E is very well tolerated. As a rule, daily doses of upto 800 mg do not induce any adverse reactions. Only when a dose approaching 1 gm gives rise to transient gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, flatulence, diarrhea, etc. There have so far been no reports of any changes in laboratory parameters as a result of vitamin E administration.

Tell your doctor if any of the side effects gets serious or lasts longer than a few days, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet

5. How to store Formula E?
Store in a cool and dry place, away from light. Keep out of reach of children
