1. What is Amdopril®?
Amdopril® 5/5 Tablet is a combination of two active ingredients, Perindopril Arginine and Amlodipine.

2. How Amdopril® works in our body
Perindopril Arginine is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker. It works by widening and relaxing the blood vessels so that blood passes through them more easily and makes it easier for the heart to maintain a good blood flow.

3. What is the indication of Amdopril®
Amdopril® 5/5 Tablet is indicated for treatment of hypertension and/or stable coronary artery disease, in patients already controlled with Perindopril Arginine and/or Amlodipine given concurrently at the same dose level.

4. What are the dosage & administration of Amdopril®?
The usual dose is one tablet once daily, preferably to be taken in the morning and before a meal. The fixed dose combination is not suitable for initial therapy. If a change in dosage is required, the dose of Amdopril® 5/5 Tablet could be modified or individual titration with free combination may be considered.

5. What are the contraindications of Amdopril®?

  • Allergic to Perindopril Arginine or any other ACE inhibitor, or to Amlodipine or any other calcium antagonists, or any of the other ingredients of Amdopril® 5/5 Tablet
  • Patients who have experienced symptoms such as wheezing, swelling of the face or tongue, intense itching or severe skin rashes with previous ACE inhibitor treatment or if you or a member of your family have had these symptoms in any other circumstances (a condition called angioedema).
  • Patients who have diabetes or impaired kidney function and are treated with a blood pressure lowering medicine containing aliskiren.
  • Patients who have narrowing of the aortic heart valve (aortic stenosis) or cardiogenic shock (a condition where the heart is unable to supply enough blood to the body).
  • Patients who have severe low blood pressure (hypotension).

6. What are the adverse effects of Amdopril®?
The most common side effects are dry cough, headache, vertigo, ringing or buzzing in the ears (tinnitus), vision disturbances, feeling light-headed, dizzy or faint (hypotension), feeling tired or lethargic (fatigue), feeling sleepy (somnolence), feeling sick (nausea) or vomiting, an uncomfortable feeling in the stomach or belching after eating, indigestion (dyspepsia), stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation, flushed skin, taste disturbances or loss of taste (dysgeusia), muscle cramps, tingling or numbness of the hands or feet, pins and needles (paraesthesia) fast or irregular heart beats, also called palpitations, shortness of breath, difficulty in breathing or chest tightness (dyspnoea), nose-bleeds, rash, itching (pruritis), swelling of hands, ankles or feet (peripheral oedema).

7. What would be the storage condition of Amdopril®?
Keep out of the reach of children. Keep in a cool & dry place. Protect from light.
