1. What is Tibilon® Therapeutic shampoo?
Tibilon® (2.5 mg tablet) is a synthetic steroid having weakly oestrogenic, progestogenic and androgenic properties. Tibilon® is described as a selective estrogenic activity regulator (STEAR) consisting of Tibolone.

2. How Tibilon® works in our body?
Tibilon® provides oestrogenic activities on target tissues like Brain to reduce Hot Flushes and sweats and on Bone to prevent Bone Loss. Tibilon® exerts Progestogenic effect to protect the lining of Uterus. Tibilon® also provides Testosteronic effect to improve Mood and Sleep.

3. What is the indication of Tibilon®?
Tibilon® tablet is indicated for-

  • The relief of climacteric symptoms &
  • The prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis

What are the dosage & administration of Tibilon®?
The dose is one Tibilon® tablet per day (2.5 mg daily). The tablet should be swallowed with some water or other drink, preferably at the same time in each day. Improvement of symptoms generally occurs within a few weeks, but optimal results are obtained when therapy is continued for at least 3 months.
Starting Tibilon® Tablet:
Women experiencing a natural menopause should commence treatment with Tibilon® tablet at least 12 months after their last natural bleed. In case of a surgical menopause, treatment with Tibilon® tablet may commence immediately.
Switching from a sequential or continuous combined HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) preparation:
If changing from a sequential HRT preparation, treatment with Tibilon® should start the day following completion of the prior regimen. If changing from a continuous-combined HRT preparation, treatment can start at any time.

What are the contraindications of Tibilon®?
Pregnancy and lactation, known, past or suspected breast cancer, undiagnosed genital bleeding, untreated endometrial hyperplasia, previous or current venous thromboembolism, any history of angina, myocardial infarction, stroke, acute liver disease or history of liver disease, porphyria.

4. What are the adverse effects of Tibilon®?
Side effects of dizziness, headache, oedema, weight gain, pruritus are reported.

5. What would be the storage condition of Tibilon®?
Store at a cool & dry place, away from light. Keep out of reach of children.
