Theophylline Sodium Glycinate

RESPIRATORY

INDICATION

 Acute and chronic asthma, bronchopneumonia, bronchitis, pulmonary and renal edema, nocturnal and early morning wheezing, apnea of pre-maturity.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Tablet : Adults : The usual maintenance dose for adult and elderly patient is 200 mg every 12 hours. This may be titrated as 300mg or 400 mg dependent on patients need.

Syrup : Children : 1 – 6 years : ½ – 1 teaspoonful every 6 hours after meal.

6 – 12 years : 1 – 11/2 teaspoonful every 6 hours after meal.

Adults : 2 – 4 teaspoonful every 6 hours after meal.

COMPOSITION

Thenglate® SR Tablet 250 mg : Each sustained release tablet contains Theophylline USP 250 mg.

Thenglate® SR Tablet 400 mg : Each sustained release tablet contains Theophylline USP 400 mg.

Thenglate® Syrup : Each 5 ml syrup contains Theophylline Sodium Glycinate USP 120 mg which is equivalent to 60 mg of Theophylline.
