1. What is REGLUTIDE®?

REGLUTIDE® (Semaglutide Injection 1.34 mg/ml) is an injectable prescription medicine used along with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.

2. How REGLUTIDE® works in our body?

REGLUTIDE® works by binding to GLP-1 receptors and stimulates insulin release from the pancreas when you need it. It helps to lower your blood sugar levels. It also helps to reduce the amount of sugar released by your liver and slows down food leaving your stomach to help prevent blood sugar spikes.

3. What is the indication of REGLUTIDE®?

REGLUTIDE® is a glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus and to reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus and established cardiovascular disease.

4. What are the dosage & administration of REGLUTIDE®?

REGLUTIDE® is taken once a week, the initial dose is 0.25 mg (19 units on the pen dialer) for 4 weeks; the maintenance dose is 0.5 mg (37 units on the pen dialer) or 1 mg (37 units on the pen dialer TWICE) or as prescribed by the physician, along with diet and exercise, to lower blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.

5. What are the contraindications of REGLUTIDE®?

REGLUTIDE® is contraindicated in patients with:

  • A personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
  • Known hypersensitivity to Semaglutide or to any of the product components

6. What are the adverse effects of REGLUTIDE®?

The most common adverse reactions with REGLUTIDE® are: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and constipation.

7. What would be the storage condition of REGLUTIDE®?

REGLUTIDE® should be stored in a refrigerator between temperature 2°C to 8°C.
