Presentation:

Lumeran-150: Each film coated tablet contains Ranitidine Hydrochloride USP equivalent to Ranitidine 150 mg.
Lumeran-300: Each film coated tablet contains Ranitidine Hydrochloride USP equivalent to Ranitidine 300 mg.

Indications:

• Treatment of active duodenal ulcer
• Benign gastric ulcer
• Treatment & prevention of ulcer associated with non-steroidal
anti-inflammatory agent
•Post operative stress ulcer.
•Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome.
•Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
•Gastro-intestinal haemorrhage from stress ulcer in seriously ill patient.
•Recurrent haemorrhage in patients with bleeding peptic ulcer.
•Before general anesthesia in patient considered to be at risk of acid aspiration particulary obstetric patients.

Dosage & Administration:

Adult : The usual dose of Lumeran (Ranitidine) is 150 mg twice daily (in the morning & at bed time) for atleast 4 weeks in the management of duodenal & gastric ulcer. Maintenance dose of 150 mg daily may be given at bed time. In reflux oesophagitis the recommended dose is 150 mg twice daily or 300 mg at bed time for upto 8 weeks. In pathological hypersecretory conditions, such as Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome initial dose is usually 150 mg twice or thrice daily & may be increased upto 6 g daily.

Contrainidications:

Patients hypersensitive to Lumeran (Ranitidine).

Warning & Precautions:

Since Lumeran is excreted primarily by the kidney, dosage should be adjusted in patients with impaired renal function. Caution should be taken in patients with hepatic dysfunction. Rarely dizziness, insomnia, reversible mental confusion, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort.

Drug interaction:

Increased or decreased prothrombin times have been reported during concurrent use of Lumeran and warfarin. Absorption of ketoconazole is decreased when used with Ranitidine.

Use in special groups:
