Composition:
Each gram Benagard vet powder contains Tiamulin Hydrogen Fumarate BP 450 mg.
Indication:
Benagard vet powder is a semi-synthetic derivative of the antibiotic pleuromutilin. It can be used for the treatment and prevention of Mycoplasmal and other infections of poultry like CRD, CCRD, sinusitis, airsacculitis, enteritis, pneumonia etc. It is clinically effective especially against Mycoplasmas and a large number of gram-positive as well as some gram-negative organisms. The following organisms show sensitivity to Benagard vet powder.
Mycoplasmas: Mycoplasma gallisepticum, M. synoviae, M. meleagridis, M. hyorhnis, M. hyopneumoniae (syn. M. suipneumoniae) & M. pneumoniae.
Leptospira: Leptospira spp.
Gram-positive organisms: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Clostridium perfringens (Necrotic enteritis), Listeria monocytogenes, Erysipelothrix spp. & Corynebacterium pyogenes.
Gram-negative organisms: Pasteurella spp. (Fowl cholera), Klebsiella pneumoniae, Haemophilus spp., Fusobacterium necrophorum & some strains of E. coli.
Dosage & Administration:
For Treatment:
In water: 25-30 mg/ kg B.W or 1g/3L water for 3-5 days.
In feed: 30-40 gm/100 kg feed for 5-7 days.
Synergism: Show Synergistic action with tetracycline group antibiotics.
For Prevention: Follow insert in packet
Or, as prescribed by the Registered Veterinary Doctor.
Contraindication:
Do not use in birds hypersensitive to the active ingredient.
Adverse effect: Benagard vet powder is suitable for use in laying and breeding birds as it has been shown to have no adverse effects on egg production, fertility and hatchability in chicken.
Withdrawal period:
For meat: 3 days; for egg: Nil.
Precaution:
Birds should not receive feed containing Maduramycin, Narasin & Salinomycin during or for at least seven days before or after treatment with Benagard Powder.
Storage:
Protect from light, store in a cool & dry place and keep out of reach of children.
