Aristobet-N Cream(Betamethasone (as Valerate) & Neomycin Sulphate)
Betamethasone is a potent topical corticosteroid. Topical corticosteroids have anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and vasoconstrictive actions when administered topically. Neomycin sulphate is a broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic effective against the majority of bacteria commonly associated with skin infections.

Neomycin sulphate is a broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic effective against the majority of bacteria commonly associated with skin infections. Aristobet-N Cream is indicated in severe inflammatory skin disorders in patients unresponsive to less potent corticosteroids. These disorders include eczema, contact dermatitis, dyshydrosis, exfoliative dermatitis, intertrigo, neurodermatitis, pruritus, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, etc.
Presentation
Aristobet-N Cream: Each gram cream contains Betamethasone Valerate USP 1.22 mg equivalent to Betamethasone 1 mg and Neomycin Sulphate BP 5 mg.
Indications
Aristobet-N Cream is indicated in severe inflammatory skin disorders in patients unresponsive to less potent corticosteroids. These disorders include eczema, contact dermatitis, dyshydrosis, exfoliative dermatitis, intertrigo, neurodermatitis, pruritus, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, etc.
Dosage & Administration
Apply a thin layer of Aristobet- N Cream to the affected skin areas completely two to three times daily.
Contrainidications
Acne vulgaris, perioral dermatitis, perianal and genital pruritus, primary cutaneous viral infections (e.g. herpes simplex, chickenpox) & Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation.
Warning & Precautions
Long-term continuous topical therapy should be avoided where possible, particularly in children. If applied to the eyelids, care is needed to ensure that the preparation does not enter the eye, as glaucoma might occur.
Side effects
Burning, itching, dryness, folliculitis, hypopigmentation etc.
Drug interaction
There are no significant drug interactions reported with this cream.
Use in special groups
Use in Pregnancy & Lactation: Since the safety of topical corticosteroid in pregnant women has not been established, it should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Caution should be exercised when topical corticosteroids are administered in nursing women.
Use in Children:
Do not use it on children under 2 years of age. A course of treatment for a child should not normally last more than 5 days – unless otherwise stated by your physician.
