Cilnior
ANTIHYPERTENSIVES: Cilnidipine
Indication
For the management of Hypertension.
Preparation
Each film coated tablet contains Cilnidipine INN 5 mg. Each film coated tablet contains Cilnidipine INN 10 mg.
Contraindication
Cilnidipine is contraindicated in patients with known sensitivity to Cilnidipine or any of the excipients. Cilnidipine is contraindicated in cardiogenic shock, recent MI or acute unstable angina, severe aortic stenosis.
Dosage & Administration
5-10 mg once daily after meal for adult, increase to 20 mg once daily if necessary or as directed by the physician.
Side Effect
Dizziness, flushing, headache, hypotension, peripheral edema, tachycardia, palpitations, GI disturbances, increased micturition frequency, lethargy, eye pain, depression, ischemic chest pain, cerebral or myocardial ischemia, transient blindness, rashes, fever, abnormal liver function, gingival hyperplasia, myalgia, tremor and impotence.
Precaution
Hypotension, poor cardiac reserve, heart failure. Sudden withdrawal may exacerbate angina. Discontinue in patients who experience ischemic pain following administration.
Drug Interaction
Other antihypertensives, aldesleukin, antipsychotics that cause hypotension, may responses, quinidine; carbamazepine, phenytoin, rifampicin, cimetidine and erythromycin.
Presentation
Cilnior®-5 Tablet: Each box contains 3×10’s tablet in Alu-Alu blister pack. Cilnior®-10 Tablet: Each box contains 3×10’s tablet in Alu-Alu blister pack.
