I-Gold (Antioxidant Eye Vitamins)

Presentation:
I-Gold Capsule: Each capsule contains Vitamin C USP 60 mg, Vitamin E USP 30 mg, Zinc (as Zinc Oxide) USP 15 mg, Lutein 6 mg and Copper (as Cupric Oxide) 2 mg.
Pharmacology:
Vitamin C & Vitamin E work as antioxidants and they have free radicals scavenging property. Lutein protects macula from oxidative stress and the damage caused by light. Zinc works as co-enzyme of a numerous enzymes. Copper involves in the growth, skeletal integrity and development of nervous system.
Indications:
I-Gold capsule is indicated for Age Related Eye Diseases (ARED) e.g. Age Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD) & cataract.
Dosage & Administration:
1-2 capsules/day or as recommended by the physician.
Contrainidications:
This product is contraindicated to the patients with known hypersensitivity to any ingredients of the drug.
Warning & Precautions:
Vitamin C should be given with care to patients with hyperoxaluria. It is also to be given carefully to the patients taking oral Vitamin C & Vitamin E.
Side effects:
Large dose of Vitamin C & Vitamin E cause diarrhea and other gastrointestinal disturbances. Fatigue and weakness have also been reported.
Drug interaction:
This product should be given carefully in patients taking oral anticoagulants or estrogen. It has found to antagonize the effects of Vitamin K leading to an increase in blood clotting time in these patients.
Use in special groups:
It is recommended to consult the physician before using this drug during pregnancy and lactation.
