INDICATION

Type-2 diabetes mellitus. In insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) Daomin may be given as an adjuvant. Hyperlipoproteinemia.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Adults : Daomin 500 : Starting dose is one tablet (500 mg) b.i.d., given with the morning and evening meals. Dosage increases should be made in increments of one tablet (500 mg) every week, up to a maximum of 2500 mg per day. Daomin 850 : Starting dose is one tablet (850 mg) daily, given with the morning meal. Dosage increases should be made in increments of one tablet (850 mg) every other week, up to a maximum of 2550 mg per day. Daomin XR : The usual starting dose of Daomin XR is 500 mg once daily with the evening meal. Dosage increase should be made in increments of 500 mg weekly, up to maximum of 2000 mg once daily with the evening meal. For those patients requiring additional glycaemic control, a trial of Daomin XR 1000 mg twice daily should be considered. Patients receiving Daomin treatment may be safely switched to Daomin XR once daily at the same total daily dose, up to 2000 mg once daily. Paediatrics : Starting dose of Daomin is 500 mg twice a day, given with meals. Dosage increases should be made in increments of 500 mg weekly up to a maximum of 2000 mg per day, given in divided doses.

Daomin 500 : Metformin Hydrochloride BP 500 mg. Daomin 850 : Metformin Hydrochloride BP 850 mg. Daomin XR 500 : Metformin Hydrochloride BP 500 mg. Daomin XR 1000 : Metformin Hydrochloride BP 1000 mg.
