TOPICAL PREPARATION: Econazole Nitrate + Triamcinolone Acetonide
Indication
For the topical treatment of inflammatory dermatomycoses and inflammatory skin conditions which can be complicated by or threatened by bacterial or fungal skin infection.
Dosage & Administration
The cream should be applied by gently rubbing into the skin with the finger once or twice daily for 14 days or as directed by the physician.
Side Effect
Avison cream is well tolerated, even to sensitive skin. Burning sensation, pruritis and reddish skin have rarely been reported.
Precaution
Long-term continuous steroid therapy should be avoided since adrenal suppression can occur, particularly when infants or children are treated or when occlusive dressings are applied. Moreover, long term therapy with corticosteroids can cause skin lesions such as atrophy, telangiectasia and striae.
Drug Interaction
Significant drug interactions with the topical agents have not been noted.
Preparation
Avison Cream: Each gram of cream contains Econazole Nitrate BP 10 mg and Triamcinolone Acetonide BP 1 mg.
