Aristobet (Betamethasone (as Valerate) USP 0.1%)

Therapeutic Group : Antibiotic + Steroid

Presentation:

Aristobet Cream: Each gram cream contains Betamethasone Valerate USP 1.22 mg equivalent to Betamethasone 1 mg.
Aristobet Ointment: Each gram ointment contains Betamethasone Valerate USP 1.22 mg equivalent to Betamethasone 1 mg.

Pharmacology:

Betamethasone Valerate is a potent topical corticosteroid. Topical corticosteroids have anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and vasoconstrictive actions when administered topically.

Indications:

Aristobet Cream/Ointment is indicated for severe inflammatory skin disorders such as eczema, psoriasis and contact dermatitis etc.

Dosage & Administration:

Apply a thin layer of Aristobet Cream/Ointment to the affected skin areas completely one to two times daily.

Contrainidications:

Topical corticosteroids are contraindicated in those patients with a history of sensitivity reaction to any of its components.

Warning & Precautions:

Betamethasone Valerate Cream/Ointment should not be used for long term especially in case of children. Avoid contact of this medication
with the eyes and the moist membranes lining inside of certain parts of the body e.g. mouth, nasal passages (mucous membranes).

Side effects:

Burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis & perioral dermatitis may be reported.

Drug interaction:

There are no significant drug interactions reported with Betamethasone Valerate Cream/Ointment.

Use in special groups:

Since safety of topical corticosteroid in pregnant woman has not been established, it should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Caution should be exercised when topical corticosteroids are administered in nursing mother.
Do not use it on children under 1 year of age. A course of treatment for a child should not normally last more than 5 days, unless otherwise stated by your physician.

Store below 25oC and dry place, protect from light.

Aristobet Cream: Each tube contains 20 g Cream.
Aristobet Ointment: Each tube contains 20 g Ointment.
