Cefadroxil Monohydrate

ANTI-INFECTIVE

INDICATION

♦ Respiratory tract infections ♦ Skin and soft tissue infections ♦ Genitourinary tract infections ♦ Other infections : Osteomyelitis, septic arthritis.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Adults : 500 mg – 1g twice a day, depending on the severity of infection. Alternatively, in skin and soft tissue and uncomplicated urinary tract infections, 1g once a day.

Children : Under 1 year : 25 mg / kg daily in divided doses.

1-6 years : 250 mg twice a day.

Over 6 years : 500 mg twice a day.

Elderly : Same as adult dose.

In the treatment of beta-haemolytic streptococcal infections, Twicef® should be administered for at least 10 days.

COMPOSITION

Capsule 500 : Cefadroxil Monohydrate USP 500 mg.

Powder for Suspension : Cefadroxil Monohydrate USP 125 mg /5 ml.
