Description
Clobetasol Propionate has both local anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive activity. The drug blocks the effect of macrophage migration inhibitory factor and decreases the activation of plasminogen to plasmin. It inhibits phospholipase A 2 activity via formation of lipocortin which reduces the formation of prostaglandins and leukotrienes in the local tissues. Salicylic acid is a keratolytic agent. It encourages exfoliation of the skin and opening up of the plugged follicles, which helps re-establish the normal skin- cell replacement cycle.
