1. What is GLYRIVA® Respules?
GLYRIVA® Respules contains glycopyrrolate which is an anticholinergic indicated for the long-term, maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
2. How GLYRIVA® Respules works in our body?
GLYRIVA® Respules is inhaled by the help of a nebulizer machine which turns the liquid medicine to aerosolized form. This aerosolized medicine is then inhaled by the patient. In the airways, it exhibits pharmacological effects through inhibition of M3 receptor at the smooth muscle leading to bronchodilation.
3. What is the indication of GLYRIVA® Respules?
GLYRIVA® Respules is indicated for the long-term maintenance treatment for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema.
4. What is the dosage & administration of GLYRIVA® Respules?
The recommended dose of GLYRIVA® Respules is one vial twice-daily. It should be administered at the same time of the day, (1 vial in the morning and 1 vial in the evening), every day.
5. What are the contraindications of GLYRIVA® Respules?
GLYRIVA® Respules is contraindicated in patients with a hypersensitivity to glycopyrrolate or any of the excipients. GLYRIVA® Respules should not be initiated in patients during acutely deteriorating or potentially life-threatening episodes of COPD. GLYRIVA® Respules should not be used as rescue therapy for the treatment of acute episodes of bronchospasm.
6. What are the adverse effects of GLYRIVA® Respules?
The following adverse reactions are found:
- shortness of breath
- urinary tract infection
- wheezing
- upper respiratory tract infection
- runny nose
- fatigue
7. What would be the storage condition of GLYRIVA® Respules?
Store GLYRIVA® Respules in the protective foil pouch at 20°-25°C (68°-77°F). After opening the foil pouch, unused unit-dose vials should be returned to, and stored in, the foil pouch. Once a foil pouch is opened, discard the vials if not used within 7 days. An opened unit-dose vial should be used right away. Discard any unit-dose vial if the solution is not colorless. Keep out of the reach of children.
